Lorrie - any thoughts on setting up a ritual if you're living a nomadic life with frequent trips to different locations, some of which require morning activities or moving? I find the morning energy to be best time for me, but it's not always available. But maybe there are ways to anchor a ritual other than the time slot - maybe by drinking my favorite beverage or having the same chair or seat cushion for writing?
I will sadly miss your workshop (will be in Europe at an offsite with my cofounder) but I love reading your brilliant writing nuggets in my inbox :)
What a lovely problem to have! A ritual shouldn’t be location-dependent (unless you’re Stephen King and want to write from the exact same spot). Like you mentioned, a special drink or a special thingie is enough to anchor you.
Looking forward to this. I don't really have a ritual. It's just when something hits me. I'm usually just out to the garden couple hours early morning then I have to rest a little. I either watch the idiot box or read. Depends on my mood and how I'm feeling. Then to the computer an hour or so. Then back to the garden a bit, then rest, read or TV. I guess I do have a ritual and didn't realize it. But that's not a good ritual. Hopefully I can learn and develop a good one with you.
I like to have a cup of tea and small chocolate square to go with it.
