Stop posting horse 💩
How to de-AI your posts
My husband and I talk a lot of 💩 here at the ranch…
Sometimes Winston the Great Dane mix has a sensitive tummy and has an accident in the house. 💩
What’s that smell? Must be time to clean Elsa’s litterbox. 💩
Does my pony still have a loose pile from eating his hay off the ground? 💩
But when I make a post, I try not to include too much AI horse 💩 in the mix.
There’s a backlash going around right now from people copy/pasting AI output and rubberstamping it like it came from their own noggin.
Honey, we can tell when it’s AI. And it ain’t pretty.
See, AI doesn’t actually think…so it fills space with patterns. Your job in editing is to strip the patterns and replace them with something you’d actually say.
Here’s how I’d approach it if I were sitting next to you with a red pen and a cup of coffee…
Take your AI generated tripe and print it out.
Anytime you see contrast phrases like “not this, but that,” circle it. Same with “the truth is,” “in today’s world,” and “it’s important to note.”
Those are like putting up scaffolding before you build a building. They help shape the sentence…but you don’t need it once it’s standing.
Here’s an example…
AI: Not features, but benefits matter most.
Human: People don’t buy features. They buy what those features do for them.
See the difference? You didn’t just delete the pattern. You replaced it with a real thought someone might actually say out loud.
Next lesson…break the metronome.
AI loves even rhythm. Same sentence length. Same cadence. Like a drum machine.
Um…People don’t talk like that. We speed up. We slow down. We interrupt ourselves.
So when you edit, deliberately mess with the rhythm.
I know you’ve seen this example everywhere…
Short sentence. Short sentence. Short sentence.
You can keep a short line. I won’t get mad about that. Just avoid stacking them up like pancakes. Instead, mix in a longer sentence to break up the boring.
Here’s another one…kill the AI echo.
AI repeats ideas to be “helpful.” You see the same concept in three slightly different ways.
Pick the strongest version and delete the rest. You don’t need to spoonfeed your audience.
Finally…read it out loud.
This is the fastest filter you’ve got. Your ear will catch what your eyes miss.
Here’s the real secret underneath all of this…You’re not just editing words.
You’re putting yourself back in the driver’s seat.
AI outputs language. Your job is to shape its meaning.
AI can absolutely save you time. But copy/pasting its output and calling it a day ain’t gonna hack it. You need to understand the basics of editing or you’ll sound like a robot…not yourself.

A few weeks ago I was seeing red from reading all the AI-generated crap online. Even from writers who should know better!
So, I sat down in a fury and created an editing guide called Edit the Sh!t Out of AI. It’s ridiculously affordable because I truly want to help.
This is the kind of guide you’ll use forever.
It’s packed with tricks of the trade I’ve learned about copywriting over my two decade (plus) career.
Then I map those techniques with the most common (and even some uncommon) AI patterns to make your words sound like YOU.
Here’s what one customer had to say about Edit the Sh!t Out of AI…
“Boy, is this timely for me! Claude is where I’m going to be focusing, and I’m really excited about what it can do for me...but — like you — as a writer, I’m also leery of letting it creep into my territory. Your guide is the perfect thing to get me more comfortable using it for marketing pieces and sales letters I can automate to start getting some paid speeches booked.”

Look, I wasn’t born yesterday. I realize AI isn’t going anywhere. Hell, I use it too. I just know how to make it sound like me and not a stupid bot. You should too.
Keep it rodeo

P.S. I’m keeping the price low until enough of them are sold to actually make an impact. Then it’ll be listed at a premium price. Because it’s that good. 🤠

Hear hear! I never started with AI and I’m pretty pleased to see everyone coming back around. Lately, I've been pulling out my old copy books (even my SWS binder!) and refreshing myself on the fundamentals.
Guilty. And on probation as I make amends.
